Tyla, the South African singer, will perform at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on December 12, where she is nominated for eight awards, including Top R&B Artist and Top Afrobeats Song. Her hits “Water,” “Truth or Dare,” and “Jump” are all competing for the Top Afrobeats Song award.
Tyla is set to deliver a must-see performance for her fans, known as “Tygers.” The awards will air on Fox, with more updates available on Billboard.
Drake and Kendrick Lamar are set to battle it out again in the Rap categories at the Billboard Music Awards, including Top Rap Artist and Top Male Rap Artist. Drake, with 39 BBMA nods, is also competing for Top Male Artist, Top Artist, and more, including for his collaboration “act ii: date @ 8 (remix).”
Kendrick Lamar is nominated for Top Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Streaming Songs Artist, and Top Rap Song for “Not Like Us,” plus a nod for the collaboration “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin.
The Billboard Music Awards honor the top artists, albums, songs, and creators based on year-end performance metrics from the Billboard charts. The 2024 ceremony, reflecting the period from October 28, 2023, to October 19, 2024, will be hosted by Michelle Buteau. The event airs on Thursday, December 12, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX, Fire TV, and Paramount+.
